August 11, 2011 July found me gigging with Drummerboy and mixing bands at the Capitol Hill Block Party. My friend Jeff Hayes is the mastermind behind drummer-boy.org. Jeff has been a drummer about town in the Seattle blues scene for years. He had the idea to make a list of roots players that he has wanted to play with and put together bands as necessary to play shows. I was fortunate enough to be asked to come along on one of these pick up band gigs. Blues on the pedal steel you ask? Well, I wasn’t sure what I had gotten myself into but it ended up being a huge success. I learned a lot and had a blast. Looking forward to doing more in the future. KEXP‘s live broadcast from the Capitol Hill Block Party was a hit as always. Acts including the Posies, Handsome Furs, The Head and the Heart, and the Young Evils all played killer sets. Looking forward to our broadcasts from Bumbershoot and Music Fest NW in September. Finished up the new record from Hard Money Saints at The Imperial Room. “Hot Rod Trash” is the 3rd record I have done with the group. Check out my discography for a complete list of my work.
